Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 June 2026

1. Who we are

These terms apply to your use of Chef AI (the "Service"), operated by Chef AI ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

2. The Service

Chef AI lets you generate recipes from text prompts and identify ingredients from photos of your fridge or pantry, returning suggested dishes. The Service uses third-party AI models to produce outputs.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be of legal age to enter a contract in your country. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
  • upload malware, attempt to probe or breach our security, or scrape the Service;
  • generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that depicts real people without consent (including deepfakes);
  • jailbreak, prompt-inject, or otherwise attempt to bypass safety controls;
  • resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the Service.

5. Your inputs and outputs (AI)

You retain ownership of the prompts and images you submit. You confirm you have the rights necessary to submit that content. You are responsible for how you use the outputs, including verifying any recipe, ingredient identification, or nutritional information before relying on it.

Outputs are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or unsuitable. They are not a substitute for professional advice (medical, dietary, allergen, or otherwise). Always check ingredients for allergens and food-safety risks yourself.

We may remove, restrict, or refuse to generate content that violates these terms. Repeated infringement of others' rights may result in account termination. To report content that infringes your rights, contact us at hello@chef.ai.

6. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including the software, branding, and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service on your selected plan.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Chef AI Pro is offered on a monthly subscription with an optional free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Pricing, billing frequency, taxes, payment methods, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

8. Service availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete account data after a reasonable export window.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
